Shanghai Smartjet has capabilities to perform simple cutting and sawing or detailed shapes throughout its network. We offer:

    1)Sawing

Customers calling Shanghai Smartjet to help with their metal product needs also ask us to perform simple sawing operations on their bar, tube, or plate items. Carbon, alloy, stainless, aluminum, and nickel bars and plates are the most common steel products for sawing. Depending on the required tolerances and the inquired quantities, Shanghai Smartjet relies on an expansive network of saws to meet this need.

    ①Band Sawing

Vertical band saws (contour saws) and horizontal band saws use conventional, fluid cooled blades to friction cut even the hardest steels. Using Shanghai Smartjes saws, customer benefits include:

★ Low cost cutting for virtually any product.

★ Laser guided blades (selected locations) to assure straight, close tolerance cuts.

★ Minimum kerf loss means lower overall material cost.

    ②Cold Sawing

Cold saws use circular, tungsten-carbide tipped blades or high strength steel (HSS) blades to cut product with minimal burr, no sparks, no discoloration and no dust. As a result, with Shanghai Smartjet cold saws customer benefits include:

     ★ Smooth, machined surface.

★ Edge has no heat affected zone and post-processing thermal treatment is generally not required.

★ Close tolerance parts, reducing finishing time.

    ③Contour Saw

Contour saws do just that, they cut steel to a layout line of regular radius or irregular contour. The term is often used to describe any band machining operation more complicated than a simple straight line cut.

    (2)Plasma cutting

Plasma cutting, or electric arc cutting, provides a faster more precise option for cutting carbon, stainless and aluminum plate.Plasma cutting, or electric arc cutting, is suitable for thin and thick plates alike for most conventional steel products.

★ State-of-the-Art plasma torches provide uniform cuts with minimum bevel through 5 inches thick.

★ Heavy duty gantry machines providing for good part definition even at high cutting speeds so you get square corners as well as a good cut.

★ CNC controlled for maximum precision and accuracy.

★ High cutting speeds, providing minimal thermal distribution which helps to maintain flatness.

★ Shallower heat affected zones than with flame cutting.

    (3)Oxy-fuel cutting

Oxy-fuel cutting, or flame cutting, is one of the most cost effective solutions for carbon plate processing while still delivering uniform edge quality.Oxy-Fuel cutting, or flame cutting, is a fast and efficient operation for   cutting simple or complex shapes, including bevel cuts and burn-to-sketch.

★ Single torch up to twelve torches on at a time, efficiently cutting one piece to thousands of shapes.

★ CNC controlled, providing precision and consistency from part to part and lot to lot.

★ Extra wide gantry machines, allowing us to cut many pieces at a time without compromising plate yields.

★ Heavy duty machines, typically handling plate thicknesses ranging from 5/8 inch to 12 inch thick. Our heavy plate centers can cut plates up to 30 inches thick.

    (4)Water jet

Water Jet cutting provides more precision than flame or plasma cutting, with smaller heat affected zones compared to flame cutting or plasma cutting.Water jet cutting works by adding abrasive (garnet) mixture to the pressurized water and forcing it through a small hole for precision metal cutting.Benefits of Water Jet Cutting

★ Metals sensitive to high temperature cutting stays flat.

★ Cut pieces are smooth, burr free while maintaining shape tolerances.

★ Harmful fumes or liquids are not produced.

★ Provides good versatility and can cut through a range of materials (stainless steel, aluminum, nickel, etc.)

    (5)Laser cutting

Laser cutting provides the best tolerances and the most precise cuts. The heat affected zones are much smaller compared to flame cutting or plasma cutting. This technique provides high speed laser cutting and leaves a high-quality surface finish on the material. The process works by directing a high powered laser onto the material, with the use of computer controlled software to guide the precision cutting.Laser cutting is one of the most popular profiling technologies as it has the ability to accurately cut, melt, burn, or vaporise a range of materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, nickel alloys, etc.

★ This method provides effectiveness as it produces a precise cut due to its accuracy.

★ he heat generated by the laser is limited to a small heat-affected zone.

★ Due to its accuracy it can produce small holes and precision detail on material.

★ Gas is used to clear the cut zone of the access material being cut.

we are able to provide these services with our laser cutting machine which has the following capabilities:

    ★ Bystronic Byspeed Laser Cutter.

    ★ Bystonic 4.0KW (Byspeed) Complete with Automatic Sheet Loading 6000 x 2500mm (236.22 x 98.43in).

    ★ Max dimensions: 6000mm x 2500mm (236.22 x 98.43in).

    ★Thickness: 25mm (.98in).

    ★ Max dimensions: 3000mm x 1500mm (118.11 x 59.06in).

    ★ Thickness: 15mm (0.59in).

    6)Shearing

Straight, guillotine shears are used for non-production quantity, straight cutting of carbon, stainless, nickel, or aluminum plate. Using  Shanghai Smartjet shears, customer benefits include:

★ Fast and economical cutting for lighter gauges sheet and light plate.

★ Adjustable rake settings control camber and twist.

★ 20 foot shears can handle virtually any size plate.

★ Width and length tolerances are generally /- 1/16 inch, though tighter tolerances are possible, depending upon the application.
